Common Crane

A total of 27 individuals have been noted in the Camel Estuary area, (up to Dec 31st 2011).

1939 – One at Amble Marshes Apr 23rd to 25th.

1983 – One Dec 12th on the estuary.

1987 – One was seen leaving Pinkson Creek early morning on Jan 8th. It was seen later the same day on the Lizard.

2011 – 24 first noted over Egloshayle Nov 10th was noted at various locations around the estuary including Trewince and Amble Marshes until the 17th. (These birds were also noted later on the 17th in flight in Devon and Hampshire).
