Thoughts on ages of Great Skuas past Rumps Point

Colin Selway wrote;

From the group of 12 Great Skua (Stercorarius skua) noted yesterday, two came in close enough to photograph from Rumps Point. I’m presuming that both are in juvenile plumage?; this based on bill pattern, primary shape, darker head and lack of moult (remiges & rectrices) The group appeared to be made up of all juveniles, mostly dark phenotypes, I wonder is there any way to safely age the darker individual as a 2nd winter? or are they just examples of pale and dark morph juveniles. (Both birds photographed within minutes of each other, with the same light conditions)
