Pentire/ Rumps Point; 1 first winter Velvet Scoter west this morning with a Common Scoter, also 200+ Common Gulls and a Great Skua.
Colin Selway writes; ‘Of the 200+ Common Gull (Larus canus) SW past Rumps Point in 2 hours this morning, 50% 1st winter birds. With the oddest adult type wing pattern shown by image, more of a brachyrhynchus/ thayeri type wing? (I think that canus is now lumped with brachyrhynchus by some?)’
