Birds

Large number of thrushes noted throughout the area today with a few hundred Redwings noted with lesser numbers of Fieldfare, Blackbird and Song Thrush.

Amble Marshes; 2 Mute Swan, 285 Canada Goose, 5 Shelduck, 70 Wigeon, 14 Gadwall, 75 Teal, 1 male Green-winged Teal, 36 Mallard, 1 Pintail, 34 Shoveler, 12 Red-legged Partridge, 2 Pheasant, 3 Little Egret, 1 Heron, 8 Little Grebe, 1 Buzzard, 4 Moorhen, 110 Lapwing, 120 Dunlin, 1 Jack Snipe, 34 Black-tailed Godwit, 170 Curlew, 52 Redshank, 1 Black-headed Gull, 1 Great Black-backed Gull, 12 Woodpigeon, 2 Jay, 12 Jackdaw, 4 Carrion Crow, 24 Blackbird, 40 Fieldfare, 10 Song Thrush, 180 Redwing, 3 Robin, 2 Dunnock, 8 House Sparrow, 6 Pied Wagtail, 4 Meadow Pipit, 4 Goldfinch, 2 Reed Bunting.

Dinham area; 9 Mute Swan, 4 Whooper Swan, 4 Wigeon, 1 Cormorant, 4 Little Egret, 10 Oystercatcher, 350 Golden Plover, 200 Lapwing, 24 Curlew, 4 Redshank, 40 Black-headed Gull, 6 Herring Gull, 2 Great Black-backed Gull.

Egloshayle area; 1 Water Pipit, 3 Meadow Pipit.

Old Town Cove area; Over 700 small gulls mainly Black-headed with about 80 Mediterranean Gull and 10 Common Gull. 5 Little Egret, 1 Heron.

Padstow area; 1 adult Yellow-legged Gull, 21 Grey Plover flew towards the estuary mouth together with 2 Knot. 6 Cormorant, 8 Shag, 1 Little Egret, 70 Great Black-backed Gull.

Pentire/ Rumps Point; 120 Linnet, 5 Turnstone.

Porthilly; 1 Merlin, 4 Skylark, 30 Redwing, 6 Meadow Pipit.

Tregenna Creek; 60 Redwing, 6 Fieldfare, 10 Blackbird, 6 Song Thrush.

Treraven Meadow; 3 Bar-headed Goose, 370 Canada Goose, 34 Wigeon, 14 Teal, 8 Mallard, 2 Little Egret, 1 Sparrowhawk, 3 Curlew, 4 Black-headed Gull, 8 Herring Gull, 2 Woodpigeon, 12 Jackdaw, 2 Rook, 12 Carrion Crow, 85 Starling, 6 Meadow Pipit.

Wadebridge; 140 Redwing flew southeast over the town.

Moths

Wadebridge; A single Light Brown Apple Moth at Dunveth Road.
